Modal Trigger A tour of North Fork wineries ended in carnage Saturday, when a hit-and-run drunk driver slammed into a limousine full of young women on Route 48 in Cutchogue, cops said. Four of the women were killed in the crash, and their four friends and the limo’s driver were seriously injured in the 5:15 p.m. accident. All eight women were ages 23 and 24, and — in a horrible irony — had taken a limousine so that they could drink safely as they toured the area’s wineries, officials said. Local police initially indicated that the victims may have been bridesmaids out on a bachelorette jaunt to area vineyards. Rapper Meek Mill bought new girlfriend Nicki Minaj a $75,000 diamond ring to celebrate the success of his new album. After Meek’s new record “Dreams Worth More Than Money” hit number one he headed over to Rafaello and Co. Jewelers in Manhattan’s Diamond District. The six carat ring features two yellow heart shaped diamonds with a white diamond pave setting set in 18 karat white gold. It matches her huge 15 carat yellow diamond engagement ring from the rapper. Minaj posted a picture of both rings on her Instagram and wrote, “I get gifts when I’m good, better gifts when I’m bad.”

Actor Alex Rocco, who played casino owner Mo Greene in the first "Godfather" film, has died. Rocco was the voice of Itchy & Scratchy Studio boss Roger Myers, Jr. on "The Simpsons."  And he has a slew of other TV credits, including "The Rockford Files," "Starsky & Hutch" and "Facts of Life." Reports out of South Africa says the preacher who was seen in a photo online feeding his congregation a ‘live snake’ has been arrested by the police. The photo of Prophet Penuel Mnguni of End Times Disciples Ministries went viral on social media. He allegedly gave his congregation live snakes to eat, telling them it would taste like chocolate. According to the reports citing Ga-Rankuwa police,the Pretoria based preacher has been arrested on Sunday and is likely to appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of cruelty to animals. Earlier in the week, the South African branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty against Animals (SPCA) had warned the preacher to keep his hands off live animals.

Australian surfer Mick Fanning is incredibly lucky after surviving a shark attack that was broadcast live on television. Mick was competing at the J-Bay Open Final in South Africa when a large fin emerged from the water (apparently, there were two sharks involved). In the video, you see Mick begin to kick wildly and momentarily go underwater as boats rush to his aid. Thankfully, Mick was uninjured during the attack. The man who died did not know how to swim and it appears he slipped and fell in the pool, law enforcement sources tell TMZ.  We're told there was no foul play.  Our sources say Demi's caretaker threw the party and invited the victim.  They reiterated neither Demi nor her kids were there. As for alcohol, we're told there was "a limited amount." We're told the caretaker and the others went out at some point leaving the victim behind, and when they returned they found him at the bottom of the pool. The  man was found dead Saturday night in  Demi Moore 's swimming pool ... TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell us, a 21-year-old man apparently drowned in the swimming pool and his body was discovered early Sunday morning at the bottom of the pool. Former President  George H. W. Bush  was discharged from the Maine Medical Center in Portland today, four days after he fell at his Maine home, a family spokesman said. Bush was treated for a fractured vertebrae, spokesman Jim McGrath said. The former president was taken to the hospital Wednesday after he fell at his summer home in Kennebunkport. On Saturday, McGrath tweeted that Bush was in good spirits and his doctors were very pleased with his progress. The type of fracture that Bush sustained usually takes three to four months to heal, attending physician Dr. William D'Angelo said. A statement released Thursday from Bush’s office said that "the president never lost consciousness, and the injury he sustained neither impinged on his spine nor resulted in any neurological deficits." According to the statement, Bush will not need surgery but will be in a neck brace for "at least a couple of months.

MODESTO, Calif. — Police sought to question a 30-year-old man about the deaths of three children and two adults whose bodies were found in a  California  home on Saturday. Detectives named Martin Martinez, of Modesto, a person-of-interest in the investigation and are asking anyone with information on him and his whereabouts to call authorities. Police spokeswoman Heather Graves said she didn't know his relationship to the victims. He was last seen driving a red Lincoln Navigator. Officers responding to a request to conduct a welfare check on the home discovered the bodies in the afternoon, Graves said. She had no immediate information on the victims and circumstances of the deaths. She said detectives were waiting to receive court approval to enter the home and process the crime scene.
