Masturbating man tried to rape woman on Brooklyn train: cops
The victim was riding in the last car of No. 3 train when the perv exposed himself and began masturbating near the Bergen St. station in Park Slope at 1:55 p.m., authorities said.
He then grabbed the woman’s hair and neck before trying to rape her on the floor of the East New York-bound train, officials said.
A 37-year-old good Samaritan rushed to the woman’s aid from another car and interrupted the attack, cops said. He subdued the creep and brought him to the local precinct, getting a gash above his eye that required six stitches in the process, the criminal complaint said.
Alvaro Denica, 40, of Bensonhurst, was arrested and held on $150,000 bond and $50,000 cash after he was hit with a slew of charges, including assault, attempted sexual abuse, public lewdness, harassment and menacing, officials said.
The defense said Denica is the father of two autistic kids who he supports by working at Purbird restaurant in Park Slope.
Workers at the restaurant where Denica was hired as a cook in 2011 were shocked by the allegations.
“It’s something we can’t believe. He’s a good employee,” said manager Andre Gordillo, 26. “We've never had a problem with him.”
In another disturbing attack, cops busted a 47-year-old man Thursday who was wanted on allegations he groped a woman on a subway platform in the Flatiron District.
Daniel Gallantter, of Chelsea, put his arm around the 23-year-old victim on the N/R line’s 23rd St. station about 6:45 p.m. Saturday and then forced a hand up her skirt, police said.
He was charged with stalking and sex abuse and was being held on $10,000 bail. Gallantter is due back in court Tuesday.
