Former ‘American Idol’ contestant arrested for harassment
Former “American Idol” contestant Corey Clark is back in the news, but once again it’s not for his singing.
The 35-year-old was arrested on charges of aggravated harassment and violation of a court order on Thursday in Yuma, Ariz., reports the Wrap.
According to the website, the arrest follows a Sept. 17 incident at the Yuma County Court where Clark confronted a man he believed was in a relationship with his estranged wife.
Clark’s ex told authorities that the singer had violated a court order that he only contact her by email or through a third party, and even then only in regards to the former couple’s children.
The Wrap also reports that she told police that Clark was stalking her after he followed her to a restaurant and watched her “for hours while she ate.”
Clark was infamously kicked off the second season of “American Idol” for failing to disclose his arrest record to producers. After he got the boot, he claimed to have had a sexual relationship with former “Idol” judge Paula Abdul.
This is just the latest in a long string of arrests following his time on the recently canceled talent competition series.
