‘We Are Family’ singers boot sister from Pope performance
Fans of Sister Sledge may only be seeing three of the four siblings when they perform for Pope Francis in Philadelphia on Saturday.
The concert is promoting the entire group, but lead singer Kathy says her sisters are keeping her from performing after a falling out over her solo project a few years ago.
“She’s been trying to reconcile, but, for whatever reason, they’re continuing to push her away,” Kathy’s agent Carlos Keyes told Page Six. “She’s been trying to make peace with them . . . The funny thing is, they’re from Philly and she’s the only one who still lives there.”
It is likely she will be excluded Saturday, though they are most popular for their 1979 hit “We Are Family.”
Her sisters said, “We are praying for our sister and for reconciliation.”
